Advanced Diagnosis

We are one of the first orthopedic programs in the area to offer the state-of-the-art 3T MRI scanner. It quickly provides clear images, meaning treatment can begin sooner. Armed with this information, our surgical team can determine the most effective and least-invasive option.

Progressive Treatment Options

The surgeons of Adventist Orthopedic Care are experts in some of the most progressive joint replacement procedures:

MAKOplasty Hip Replacement- Adventist Orthopedic Care is home to the top performer of hip arthroscopy procedures in Illinois and we are one of the first to offer this progressive procedure. Using the RIO® Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System, our surgeons are able to provide the highest level of accuracy and precision. This precision can reduce the likelihood of hip dislocation, provide more consistency in leg length and decrease the risk that the implant and bone will rub together abnormally, improving the lifetime of the hip replacement.

MAKOplasty® partial knee replacement - Our MAKOplasty® Robotic Orthopedic System is available for those suffering from mid-stage osteoarthritis of the knee. Our experienced orthopedic surgeons have performed more MAKO procedures than any other hospital in Illinois. During this highly advanced, minimally-invasive procedure, only the diseased portion of the knee is removed, and a movable implant is secured in the knee joint – leaving the healthy bone and surrounding tissues untouched. The many advantages of this procedure include smaller incisions, less scarring, retention of tissue (including ligaments) and reduced knee pain, leading to a quicker recovery and more natural-feeling movement.

Direct Anterior Approach Hip Replacement - This minimally invasive technique does not require the surgeon detach any of the muscles or tendons, lessening the disturbance to the joint itself. It also only requires a 3-4 inch incision at the front of the hip.

Mini Posterior Approach Hip Replacement- Because this procedure separates instead of cuts muscle fibers, the nerve path is not disturbed and the muscle is not injured. This more straightforward approach tends to have fewer complications, less bleeding, less scarring and faster recovery times.

Quadriceps-Sparing Knee Replacement - This minimally-invasive knee surgery allows surgeons to insert knee implants through a shorter incision while avoiding trauma to the quadriceps – the most important muscle group around the knee. This can allow for quicker recovery times, less post-operative knee pain and a diminished need for rehab and therapy compared to traditional procedures..

After your procedure, our expert rehabilitation team will develop an individualized treatment program designed to quickly get you on the road to recovery. We take a team approach to recovery, with you as our most important team member. By emphasizing patient education, we also improve long-term outcomes of treatment. Our therapists and physicians are committed to providing comprehensive care an unmatched level of service at all of our hospitals and rehabilitation facilities.
