At The Vascular Center of Adventist Heart & Vascular Institute, you may undergo vascular ultrasound testing of your arteries and veins as a noninvasive way of detecting peripheral vascular disease (PVD). PVD is a narrowing of blood vessels that restricts blood flow.
Safe, Painless Testing When You Need It
When you have a vascular issue, The Vascular Center can perform a variety of inpatient and outpatient ultrasound examinations to diagnose the problem and recommend treatment. Exams we offer include:
- mesenteric (visceral vascular)
- venous duplex
If you have been admitted to the hospital or are in the emergency room, vascular ultrasound testing will be performed portably at your bedside. Because ultrasound gives off no radiation, all of these tests are safe and painless.
Screenings To Identify Problems Early
If you prefer a proactive approach, The Vascular Center offers non-invasive vascular screening exams to catch problems early. Your doctor may suggest screening directly or you may request vascular screening exams yourself.
We offer screenings for Carotid Artery Disease (stroke risk), Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) (for blocked arteries in the leg and increased heart disease risk), and AAA (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm) blocked artery in the abdomen.
The Vascular Center has labs accredited by both the American College of Radiology (ACR) as well as the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). Our accreditation includes Extracranial Cerebrovascular testing, Peripheral Venous testing, Peripheral Arterial testing, and Visceral Vascular testing. That means you can trust that you're receiving the highest level of care available.
